Five chores a small business can hand off this month
Booking reminders, review requests, missed-call texts, invoice nudges and the weekly report.
By Prajuvin Prabha · YHWH Digital, Toronto
Most owners don’t need a robot. They need the five small jobs that happen every day, and get forgotten every week, to happen on their own. Here they are, in the order we usually set them up.
1. Booking reminders
A text the day before every appointment, with a one-tap way to reschedule. Fewer empty chairs, fewer awkward calls.
2. Review requests
One friendly text after each finished job, with a link straight to your review page. Most happy customers will leave a review if you ask nicely and make it easy.
3. Missed-call texts
When you can’t pick up, the caller gets a text from your business within a minute: “Sorry we missed you, how can we help?” They wait for you instead of dialling the next shop.
4. Invoice nudges
Polite reminders on a schedule you choose, with a payment link in each one. You stop being the bad guy, and the money comes in sooner.
5. The weekly report
One short message every Monday: calls, bookings, reviews and anything unpaid. Five minutes with a coffee and you know where the week stands.
Start with one
Don’t switch everything on at once. Pick the chore that annoys you most, let it run for a month, and see how it feels. Then add the next.
